About

The Abertawe Centre (Swansea) was founded in 1973 and currently has a membership of over 150 people in the local area. The group is affiliated to the National Trust.

Our aim is to promote the charitable purposes of the National Trust and to make membership of the charity more enjoyable and effective.

The Abertawe Centre aims to support its members with their love of history and nature by providing monthly speakers along with day trips and short holidays to interesting places and other National Trust sites.

Swansea and Gower is blessed with several National Trust sites including parts of the Welsh Coast Path on Gower; Rhossili, voted one of Britain’s best beaches; the award-winning Three Cliffs Bay and the salt marsh at Cwm Ivy.

Further afield you can explore Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Aberdulais, Dinefwr, Tredegar House and many more hills, mountains and coastal walks.

Swansea itself also has much to be proud of. Its 9km bay and promenade, many historic parks, thriving marina, the quaint town of Mumbles, many independent cafes and restaurants, and a variety of arts, culture and history venues.

A diverse city where there is always something going on, especially in the summer months.
